Set in the thrilling 1930s, nightclub singer and notorious evangelist Reno Sweeney has set sail from New York to England on the S.S. American, where Billy Crocker, a charming Wall Street associate has stowed away in order to be near his love, Hope Harcourt. The problem? Hope is engaged to the incredibly wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakley. Also aboard the luxury liner is the not-so-infamous Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, and his partner in crime Erma. With the help of a few elaborate disguises, several tap-dancing sailors, and some good old fashioned blackmail, Reno and Moonface join forces to help Billy on his quest to win Hope’s heart.
